If the choice is between good and bad, it is easy to choose. But in this story, both are bad. What do you do?
– Vedha (Vijay Sethupathi)
Vikram Vedha is a psychological thriller with the film’s title counterfeiting the folklore of Vikram-Vedhaalam.
The story draws a contrasting yet like-minded connection between a crime-fighting encounter specialist Vikram, played by R. Madhavan; and a notorious criminal, Vedha, played by Vijay Sethupathi. However distinct they are from one another, their actions are pivoted against their own dharma and karma. This is where the plot grips you. Vikram and Vedha, fight within and outside the law-and-order arena to justify their motives, however good or bad they may seem to one another.
I rated Vikram Vedha a 9 on 10 on IMDb, not just for the story, but the way the story is portrayed on screen – with strong characterizations, dark scenarios, subtle yet bold dialogues, and much more that will hook you onto the screen. All these with an open ending that lets you decide the better of ‘bad in good’ or the ‘good in bad’ of Vikram Vedha.
